Cerebral Palsy - brain damageCP is caused by a brain (cerbal) damage in early childhood and children with cerebral paulsy may develop problems using their hands, walking, eating and talking normally. The palsey condition is not progressive and does not affect the intelligence or expected life span. Cerbal palsy types
Other types of Palsey are Supranuclear Gaze Palsy which is when you are unable to look in one direction, also that following a cerebral damage. Muscle tone Cerebral paulsy is caused by a damage to the brain in areas that control the muscle tone. Muscle tone can as a result be too tight, too loose or both. Changes in the muscle tone is what makes us move our bodies, arms and legs. Muscle tone can be thought of like "muscle tension" which needs to be just right - for all muscles. Any overtightening or under tightening will result in poor coordination and considering that there are an immense amount of muscles which all need the right tension, it is not strange that a small brain damage can cause a problem - Cerbal Palsy or as it is sometimes also calles - Cerebral Palsey.. |
